Wood and biomass application
WOOD SHREDDER KNIVES.
Rotor knives, inserts and stationary knives for pallets, offcuts, green waste and biomass preparation.
Feedstock variables
Clean offcuts and demolition wood do not wear knives the same way.
Nails, screws, grit and mineral contamination can change the failure mode from gradual wear to sudden edge damage.
- Clean wood, pallets, MDF or mixed waste wood
- Presence of metal fasteners and grit
- Wet, dry, green or bark-heavy material
- Required chip size and screen opening
- Current knife life and typical damage

Describe contamination honestly. Greater hardness is not always better when hidden metal causes repeated impact.
Contamination profile
The hidden fastener often determines the knife risk.
Clean production offcuts usually produce progressive wear. Pallets, demolition wood and green waste can introduce nails, screws, stones or grit that cause sudden edge damage and change the appropriate toughness balance.
Clean offcuts
Report wood species, moisture and required chip size.
Pallets
State whether nails and metal fasteners remain in the feed.
Green waste
Describe soil, stones, bark and moisture that increase abrasion.
Engineered wood
Identify MDF, coatings, adhesives and laminated materials.
